Tiny Hiatus
Bunch of stuff going on, and I’m running on only battery, so I’ll make this quick.
Pretty much, this entire month has gotten off to an exceptionally nasty start. Everyone loves the good news first, so let’s begin with that.
I turn 22 this month. Woo. Go me. One year older.
Got a pair of 3-year old AKG K271S MkII’s. My roommate decided he would sell me his for $100, get a set of K240’s, and be happy. Because he wanted semi-open headphones. The K271’s are amazingly good.
And now, the bad:
My power has been off for the last three days, and I have no idea when it’s coming back on. This is mainly due to what I’m going to say is a billing error on PG&E’s part, but I owe PG&E $1700, and they’re not willing to work with me on payment plans and whatnot until I pay $1000 straight up. I don’t have this kind of money. Seeing as my name is not on the account either, I’m powerless to try and talk to them about how my bill jumped from $1000 (there was $500 past due, $500 current due) to $1700 in the course of a few days. And with that, of course, the minimum payment to keep the power on went from $500 (manageable) to $1000 (no way in hell.)
My social life just isn’t doing so hot. My friends aren’t being real good friends, my relationships are falling apart, with my last good relationship ending up as nothing more than a test for the other party. Everything pretty much just falling apart right now.
It’s also the anniversary of my dad’s death. Died August 10th, 2000. Mere days before my birthday.
Essentially, until I get things in order, I’m going to take a small break from writing. Maybe I’ll do some writing when I’m sitting in a Starbucks waiting for my phone and laptop to charge. But outside of that, I’m staying silent.
